Why Pokémon Sapphire is my favorite pokemon game!

Okay, so the thumbnail is clickbaity, it would be a great reach to claim that Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire is the GOAT Pokémon game , because everyone has their opinion of which Pokémon game is best. But my personal favorite generation is gen 3, Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire, more specifically Pokémon Sapphire. You may claim that it's due to being my first Pokémon game, and you would be right, that's why it's specifically Pokémon Sapphire, but there is so much more that makes this a game I replay often, and know how to beat by heart. So a couple of disclaimers before we begin, in this blog we are only focusing on the original Pokémon Sapphire, not the remake, Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, although I thoroughly enjoyed that game too, but that's a topic for later. And people who know me best know I really love Pokémon Platinum, aka Diamond/Pearl generation, and that is true, but it's only a close second due to the replayability being lower to me, and that was my deciding factor. Also, Ruby and Sapphire are basically the same game with little differences other than some of the Pokémon in them, so I recommend either. Lastly, even though the Hoenn region and Sinnoh region are my top two, my favorite Pokémon isn't even local to those regions, my favorite Pokémon is Charizard, found in the Kanto region, and he is my favorite, so there, makes no sense but I decided to put it in this blog anyway. Let's get started!

It all began when I was 5 years old. I was given my first Pokémon game, a game that belonged to my mother, but she already beat it. I already liked Pokémon enough, I was lucky enough to have both parents and an awesome uncle T.J., who played Pokémon and let me play too. I don't quite remember my exact reaction, though I know I was happy. I put it in my pink o.g. Gameboy Advance (kids, the Gameboy Advance didn't have a backlight, that wasn't until the Gameboy Advance SP, so I had to make sure there was light in the room to play or borrow my mother's Gameboy Advance SP, which was a rarity) and played Pokémon for the first time. I've played all the Pokémon games except Pokémon Black/White and the sequels, the sequels to sun/moon, and sword/shield. None quite hit like gen 3 did (I've been waiting) except Pokémon platinum, which was my second ever Pokémon game I got when I was 10. Pokémon Sapphire is my favorite because of the story, I can play that game repeatedly. I love the HM "dive"-because no Pokémon game after it had it, that I know of-I loved exploring the areas under the ocean. I love the little beach on route 109. I love Slateport city and Lilycove city. I love the bangin' soundtrack that they somehow put into that little cartridge. I love that you can make secret bases after you reach Fortree city. I love the department store in Lilycove city. I loved going to the trainer school in Rustboro city. I loved Littleroot town because, at May's house, you could lay in her bed. I love Latias and Latios and Plusle and Minun. I loved Lavaridge town because you could have May go into the hot springs. I love going to mt. chimney. I love Kyogre, the legendary Pokémon. I love how easy the elite four is, haters of how easy this game is, you're wrong and stupid(just kidding, everyone is entitled to their own opinion). There are so many reasons, I could go on. I couldn't recommend this game enough.
